Plak Graphics is an exclusive graphics mod for Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). It improves the game's visuals with a full day/night cycle, modern lighting, high-resolution textures, HDR rendering, and many other special effects. There are multiple editions, each with a different visual style, and you can switch between them at any time using the Plak Graphics Configurator. With Plak Graphics Ultimate Edition, you can tweak the game's atmosphere in real time using the Lighting Editor.

Plak Graphics is made exclusively for Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). It does not work with other NFS titles or the 2012 Most Wanted reboot. You need a copy of the original 2005 game installed on your PC to use Plak Graphics.

Pick the edition you'd like to purchase in our store, enter your email address, and follow the instructions on the payment page. Once the payment goes through, you'll receive an activation key by email along with instructions on how to activate it in the Configurator. The whole process takes only a couple of minutes.

Download the Plak Graphics Configurator from our download page, unpack it into your NFS Most Wanted game folder, and run PlakGraphicsConfigurator.exe. The Configurator takes care of everything from there - it downloads the mod files, sets everything up, and gives you an interface to switch between Plak Graphics editions. When prompted during installation, make sure to replace all files.

Plak Graphics is optimized for a wide range of hardware, but your device still needs to meet some basic requirements:

CPU: Intel Core i5 (or equivalent AMD CPU)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (or equivalent AMD GPU)
RAM: At least 8 GB
OS: Windows 7 or newer
Storage: At least 2 GB of free disk space
Internet: A stable connection (at least 8 Mbit/s)

These requirements are based on user and tester reports, and your performance may vary. Gameplay performance depends on system updates, installed drivers, running Plak Graphics alongside other mods, and other factors. For the best experience, we also recommend installing DXVK (see the Recommended Mods section below), especially on AMD hardware.

Since Plak Graphics is a mod that alters game files, your antivirus may incorrectly flag it as a virus or trojan.
Plak Graphics does not contain any malware - this is a false positive. You can whitelist Plak Graphics in your antivirus settings or temporarily disable it during installation.

Each Plak Graphics edition offers a unique visual style:

Classic Edition is the original PlakMP look with dynamic lighting and a new timecycle.
Vanilla Edition takes a subtler approach and preserves more of the original art direction while still improving the game's visual quality.
Ultimate Edition is the full overhaul: day/night timecycle, HDR rendering, nearly 1000 world textures replaced, a lighting editor, Winter Mode, and everything else.

There are also other editions like Realistic, Extended, HRT, and True, each with its own character.
Higher-tier editions always include the lower ones for free.

Yes, Trial Edition is completely free with no time limit. It gives you Classic Edition visuals with minor limitations - a watermark and occasional info reminders. The free trial does not expire. You can use it for as long as you like, and upgrade to a paid edition whenever you're ready.

Ultimate Edition includes every other edition: Vanilla, Classic, Realistic, Extended, HRT, and True.
Vanilla Edition includes Classic, Realistic, Extended, HRT, and True.
Classic Edition includes HRT and Realistic.

Every higher edition includes all the ones below it.

Open the Plak Graphics Configurator and click 'Redeem Key' - it will ask for the key you received by email. You can also redeem your key online at go.plakmp.com/redeem. Detailed instructions are included in the email you receive after purchase.

This usually happens when the game's video settings aren't maxed out. Go into the game's graphics options and make sure everything is set to the highest available value, especially the "Visual Treatment" and "Road Reflection" settings. Plak Graphics relies on these being at maximum to render lighting correctly.

This is a known issue on AMD GPUs. Please download and install DXVK - it translates DirectX calls to Vulkan and resolves the rendering issues AMD cards have with the game. See the "Recommended Mods" section below for installation instructions.

This almost always means the necessary files weren't replaced during installation. When unpacking the Configurator archive, please make sure to click Yes to All - skipping even a single file can cause this. To fix this, please redownload Plak Graphics and unpack the archive again. Your license will not be affected.

Use NFSMW Blur Controller - it lets you customize motion blur settings through a simple INI file, or disable it altogether. Download the archive and unpack it into the game's main folder: go.plakmp.com/blurctrl

Widescreen Fix

Makes the game use your screen's native resolution and applies some important fixes.
This is a must-have for any player, even those without Plak Graphics.

HD Reflections

Increases the game's reflection quality and render distance. When used with Plak Graphics, this makes sure lights don't abruptly turn off behind you.
NOTE: If you experience serious FPS drops when using HD Reflections, consider setting HDReflections = 0 in its .ini config file.

Recompiled Vinyls

Warning: this mod is incompatible with Most Wanted Online and will break your game copy. Do not use them together.
Increases the resolution of car vinyls from 512x512 to 1024x1024 like in the Xbox 360 release.

DXVK

Optimizes the game to allow better performance and improved stability.
Unpack the x32/d3d9.dll file into the game folder to install it.

Enhanced Garages

Improves various garage textures and adds more Plak light emitters.
A must-have if you want to freshen up your garage while keeping its OG visual style.

Xenon Effects

Adds better spark and wind effects from the Xbox 360 release into the game.

Most Wanted Online

Allows you to play online with other people.
